MBBS Alumni Reunion – August 2026

Dear Friends,

CMC Accounts Dept recently raised some concerns regarding the mode of payment into the Alumni Association in view of recent Indian tax and FCRA regulations. As you are all aware, there is greater scrutiny of institutional funds by government agencies, especially funds coming from overseas.

In the current situation, it has been recommended to make some changes in the way we collect money for the Alumni Association including the upcoming Alumni Reunion 2026. As per the recommendations, the following steps are being taken:

1. All payments towards the Alumni Association and Reunion will be notified as “Donation”.

2. No cash payments can be received directly into the Alumni Association account from any individual.

3. All payments can be made to the Alumni Association using one of the following modes:

A. Debit Card/ Credit Cards of Bank Accounts within India: POS machines will be available in the Scudder Auditorium venue

B. UPI transactions linked to Bank Accounts within India.

4. Batch representatives in CMC are requested to inform and help overseas alumni make payments accordingly.

5. Intramural alumni can pay by salary deduction.

6. For Alumni batches who may have internal accounts within CMC, bulk internal transfer can be done for the whole batch.

We regret any inconvenience for visiting alumni, especially those coming from overseas. However, the current situation requires us to be cautious. We will try to provide assistance as much as possible.

We hope to see many alumni during Reunion 2026, and we are sure that you will have a pleasant time in Vellore meeting your batch and contemporaries.
