Passing on of Dr. Michael Colin Ferdinands (MBBS batch of 1955)

Dear friends,

We are sorry to inform you of the passing on of Dr. Michael Colin Ferdinands (MBBS batch of 1955) on 19 June 2026.

Below is a write up from the family:

Michael was born in Secunderabad, Andhra Pradesh to Mervyn and Irma Ferdinands on his father’s birthday, January 29, 1934.

He went to Bishop Cotton’s school in Bangalore where he won the Victor Ludorum gold medal for academics and sports.

Michael studied at La Martiniere College in Lucknow and attained his B.Sc in Chemistry.

He was selected in the 1955 batch at CMC Vellore.

Mike’s record in Javelin throw still stands as the javelin went across the field and landed on the road between Men’s Hostel and College.

Michael married his classmate, Pamela Sinclair (1955). They celebrated 64 year of marriage. They have 3 daughters, Lillian , Renuka and Shireen and 8 beloved grandchildren.

Mike completed his Boards in Plastic and Reconstruction Surgery and practiced in Moline Illinois. USA.

His interaction and care of his patients was the most fulfilling thing in his life. His love and devotion to his wife, children and specialy to his 8 grandchildren completed his life.

Mike and Pam had 26 years of blissful retirement filled with travel, cultivating friendships, and getting to know and love Jesus.

We have received so much support from friends, family and compassionate medical team. Our cup overflows.
