Founder’s Day special: Dr. Ida Documentary online launch
by cmcadmin
Dear Friends,
This year CMC Vellore celebrates a special milestone of completing 125 years of service. The courage and commitment of Dr. Ida Scudder in championing the cause of women and children has led to tremendous transformation over the one and a quarter centuries!
To pay tribute to Aunt Ida, we have partnered with Shepherd Films to make a 2-part documentary celebrating the story of Ida Scudder and CMC Vellore.
Thanks to the generosity of nearly 100 generous donors, our Australian Friends of Vellore and 3 MBBS Alumni Batches (1961, 1983 and 1986) Be Thou My Vision – Part 1 has been successfully launched in 2024 and watched by thousands of friends, well-wishers, mission network partners, alumni, retired staff, staff and students and FOVs around the globe! It has been nominated as a finalist for the Crown Awards (Best Foreign Production) by the International Christian Visual Media Association, with the results to be announced in the United States in February 2026.
This Founder’s Day, Tuesday 9th December 2025, we launch Be Thou My Vision – Part 1 online via YouTube, so that the story of Aunt Ida is available for anyone anywhere in the world to watch and be inspired. The attached poster contains the social media links and handles – please reach out to our Missions Office missionsoffice@cmcvellore.ac.in for any additional details.
Warm regards
Dr. Vikram Mathews
