We are happy to share a write up and an article sent to us by Dr. Preman Singh (MBBS batch of 1983):

Based on our previously published experimental work, we have proposed a novel theory regarding the molecular mechanisms of amyloid neurodegeneration.

This theory, which we call “Defective Regulated Secretion”, explains the powerful correlation that exists between the myriad genetic mutations found in amyloidogenic proteins, and the resultant seemingly amplified neurodegeneration outcomes. Essentially, it posits that genetic mutations trigger the traversement of defective intracellular secretory pathways, the cumulative effects of which produce neuropathology, whether currently histologically recognized or not. It also explains the historically vexatious conundrum of why visible beta-amyloid and tau burdens correlate poorly with clinical dementia.

We hope that this will be useful to our CMC colleagues who work in the field of neurodegenerative tauopathies like Alzheimers, Parkinsons, and Frontotemporal Dementia.

Sincerely,

Preman J. Singh
