Institutional projects which require priority funding
by cmcadmin
Dear Friends,
This is a short note to thank our Alumni for your generous support to CMC Vellore in different ways. In particular the Batch projects of the special anniversary batches are a tremendous source of encouragement. While each Batch has their area of special interest or supports a cause close to their hearts, I am happy to present the following institutional projects which require priority funding (and are FCRA-permissible) for your consideration.
- Men’s Hostel Renovation ₹1.8 crore – the lower common room, mess and kitchen are in urgent need of renovation. The student have already appealed to alumni for this cause – thank you for your immediate response, especially from the Batch of 1965 among others. However, given the extent of the repairs required, this project has been expanded and needs greater support
- AHS hostel (boys) ₹23 crore – Dorothy Joske Hostel, built in 1992, for 130 capacity is currently home to 150 AHS students. Common rooms have been converted into dorms, single rooms into double to accommodate 150 students. With the increased number of AHS courses, and upcoming new programmes, the projected need is for close to 200 students.
-
Paediatric Specialty Centre: The 350 bed facility is under construction and expected to be completed this year. Thirteen paediatric specialities will be moving from Town Campus to the new block, including Paediatric Neurology, Paediatric Haematology Oncology, Paediatric Nephrology and so on.Please consider supporting – One pod of six general beds ₹60 lakh |Dialysis Unit ₹40 lakh | Ultrasound machine ₹20 lakh

What we have received from our Alma Mater goes far beyond just an education—it has shaped our values, broadened our vision, and gifted us lifelong connections across generations and continents. I am truly grateful for the continued support, goodwill, and prayers of our alumni community. Three cheers for the silver and blue!
Warm regards,
Dr. Vikram Mathews
